Born 1924 the elder of two SES brothers, sons of a clergyman. He was a House Prefect and in Form Vd when he left. ‘He was by nature rather modest and shy (Chronicle).

Killed when members of the crew of a Lancaster Bomber B Mk VII B7 NX690. Flight from RAF St. Mawgan, Cornwall to Almaza Airfield, Cairo, Egypt. Crashed 5 miles west of Homs (Al-Khums), Murqub, East of Tipoli, Libya. ‘Aircraft caught fire in mid-air and exploded, probably hit by lightning, all on board killed’ (official report). There were twenty-five R.A.F. personal on board at the time, passengers and crew (Henk’s Welting’s Database). David Maude listed as one of the crew.
