Born Liverpool 1922. During his time act the School he served his House in many ways, winning his House Colours for both rugby and cricket. He was well to the fore in swimming and cross country and in 1932 contributed to the winning the Squash Racquets Cup. He was made a House Prefect in 1931, in the 2nd Rugby Football XV 1932, the Athletics team and a Sergeant in the OTC, in Form Vc on leaving. He joined the Royal Norfolk Regiment on a Commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1939, and by 1941 was a Captain (Adjutant) posted to Singapore. He was killed in action at Senggarang, Malaya after his Battalion was surrounded by the invading Japanese in early 1942.
