Born Wirral 1916, the youngest of two SES brothers. He was in the Va Form the leaving. In 1935 he enlisted in the Royal Artillery and served until April 1939, the re-joined almost immediately with the outbreak of war. When war was declared he joined an Officer Cadet Training Unit in 1939 and was then commissioned in the Royal Artillery as a Second Lieutenant in 1940. Attached to the Indian Army, he was posted to Burma and the war against the invading Japanese. He was killed in action early in 1944 at Imphal, Burma: little else is known.
