Born Grimsby 1905, the son of a doctor of medicine, he entered St. Edward’s as a Choral Scholar. Despite six years at the School, not much was recorded, except that he was in the Modern Vth Form when he left. He served with the Territorial Division of the Middlesex Regiment from 1926, and when the war broke out was a Captain with the 1st/8th Battalion. While in France during 1945 he died in service, but very little else is known of the circumstances surrounding his illness.
