Born South Stoneham, Hampshire, 1890. Little known of his family or time at the School. At some point he left for Canada and enlisted in the Manitoba Regiment, Canadian Infantry in 1914. Promoted to Lieutenant in the 78th Battalion in France 1916 and awarded the Military Cross (MC) in 1917. In February 1918 he transferred to the Royal Air Force as an Observer in the 48th Squadron and was killed in action over Villers, France in his Bristol F.2B fighter by the German ace Rudolph Berthold (his 37th kill). Not originally included in any SES ROH or Memorial.
