Born 1925 Zagrebacka, Croatia, he was only at SES for two terms, entirely due to the outbreak of war. He had returned to Croatia for a holiday and was there when the war was declared and managed, after some difficulty, to reach the USA with his family, where they eventually became citizens. He joined the US Army as a Cadet around 1942 and was attached to the 30th Division, 120th Infantry and was eventually included in the invasion of Europe and Day. It is thought that he survived the landings on Omaha Beach and was killed on D Day + 2 during an action at Vire-et-Taut Canal Basse, Normandy, France ‘He was an interesting and promising boy whose life was cut short at a very early age’ (Chronicle).
