Born Keynsham, Somerset 1911, the younger of two SES brothers, He was at SES only one year, before moving onto Clifton. He was in the Middle IVth Form on leaving. After leaving his schooling, he went into banking in Bristol in 1927. With the outbreak of was he enlisted in the RAF (Bomber Command) in 1939 and was promoted to Flight Lieutenant by 1945. He died early in the war during a night flight when his Blenheim Bomber stalled then spun out of control and crashing, near Cranfield Aerodrome. ‘Stalled, spun and crashed near North Crawley 3 miles East-North-East of Newport Pagnell, Bucks, all three crewmen killed’ (official report). He was due to be promoted to Flight Lieutenant the following month,
