Born Goole, East Yorkshire 1923. He was a member of the School Rowing VIII in 1941 and in the V(c )Form. ‘He possessed great gifts of character and he exercised them in a very unobtrusive way. His balanced outlook was a help to many and his cheerful temperament and kindly manner. He had many interests and rowed in the School VIII of 1941’ (Chronicle). According to witnesses, he rather gave up on his School life as he was so convinced that he was going to die in the war. He enlisted in the R.A.F.V.R. and was. Flight Lieutenant by 1941. He was killed late in December 1944 in a night-time air training accident near Wheaton Aston in Staffordshire in a Tiger Moth aircraft. There were two different versions of this tragic story, one being that Harrison was the trainer of the two-man crew supervising a younger Cadet, the other that he himself was the pilot. Either way, both men were lost.
