Born London 1923. Acted in School plays and a member of the Lower Modern VIth Form. “He was an independent character, enthusiastic not for the conventions sake but by conviction. No one could have entered more full, into the life of the School, where he infused others with his unselfishness, his readiness to help, his cheerfulness and his keen sense of humour’ (Chronicle). Little is known of his early service, but it was widespread and he was already a Normandy D-Day veteran, as well as fighting in the Far East and it was during the recapture of the City of Rangoon (today’s Yangon) that he was killed in action.
