Born 1876 at Cadmore End, Oxon, the youngest of two SES brothers. He was Head of School in 1893, a member of the Rugby Football XV 1892-3, Cricket XI 1892-4 and was in the VIth Form when he left. He went up to Selwyn College, Cambridge gaining a BA in 1897 and MA 1905. He entered the London Hospital Medical School in 1899 and by 1906 was a General Practitioner in Folkestone Kent, attached to the Victoria Hospital. Married in 1905. In 1916 he was a Doctor serving in a Army Nursing Home in the Kent area. In 1917 he officially joined up as Lieutenant in the Royal Army Medical Corps and was sent to the Italian front at Genoa. There he worked tirelessly through the continual fighting through to the end of the war, often going without sleep for days on end. He died in June 1921 the causes given were ‘Due to sickness incurred in service Italy’ (School Panel in the Chapel).
