32 ST EDWARD’S CHRONICLE

Foreign Affairs

In June, Paula Diaz Rogadao’s then Lower Sixth IB Spanish class wrote individual letters (in Spanish) to the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, noting his decision to exhume the remains of the late dictator General Francisco Franco and suggesting ideas for the newly-vacated site. Thoughts ranged from converting the main site into a flower garden to installing a water memorial inside the Chapel. The class were amazed when every correspondent received a personal letter from the Presidency thanking them for their input and indicating that their ideas would be considered.
