Rowing at St. Edward's School, Oxford

ROWING S t Edward’s has a long and proud tradition of rowing, with our rowers competing at local, national and international level in Championship competitions. In the UK, these events include; The Schools’ Head of the River,The National Schools’ Regatta,Women’s Henley Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta – where we were most recently the top co-educational school competing. We have several full-time senior coaches – including Olympic coach and oarsman Jonny Singfield,and St.Edward’s crews are consistently represented in ‘A’ finals at national events, competing for medals on a regular basis in Championship Eights and Quads. In recent years we have been delighted to see individuals achieve selection to race on the international stage at both U16 and U18 levels. Our alumni include World Junior and Senior medallists and a 2016 Rio Olympian as well as others racing in the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race. Rowing takes place on the River Thames, with a backdrop of the famous ‘dreaming spires’ of Oxford. Our boat house is approximately 2km from the main school and is equipped with a fleet of top class racing boats incorporating the latest technology.We run two overseas training camps a year and have 140 full time members.
