S t Edward’s School in Oxford is a co-educational boarding school with around 700 pupils aged 13-18. Elite young sportsmen and women can combine an excellent academic programme with expert sports coaching and outstanding facilities. St Edward’s is well known for its forward looking academic culture which draws on the very latest research into the way in which young people learn. A brand new university-style academic centre opens this year to further fuel the School’s academic ambition. St Edward’s follows both the International Baccalaureate Diploma and A Level, as we believe that pupils should be able to follow the course most suited to them. The School offers sports scholarships to candidates who will become leading sporting figures in the School and to those with the potential to reach regional, national and international level. Alongside sport and the academic programme, there is a well-rounded and rich co-curricular programme where music, drama, community volunteering and a myriad of academic and pupil-led societies thrive.

The IB T he International Baccalaureate, allows pupils the opportunity to study a wider portfolio of subjects - 3 at Standard Level and 3 at Higher Level. Pupils can benefit from a more structured approach to study, with more classroom-based learning hours, which they find helpful especially if they have sporting commitments outside the classroom. Some pupils find the wider portfolio of subjects an attractive option to keep choices open for the future. At St. Edward’s we offer a wide range of IB subjects, including Psychology, and Sport Exercise and Health Science, which complement our sports coaching programmes very well. Around half our Sixth Formers study the IB, with the rest taking A Level courses. For more information about A Levels, visit the Sixth Form page of the website.
