Buried Jerusalem War Cemetery, Israel Remembered St. Mary’s Church, Weston-on-the-Green, Oxford (Wooden Plaque) and The St. Edward’s School Chapel (Wooden Plaque) and The Cloisters Stone Memorial Born in 1876 in Bicester, he joined the School in 1887 and coxed the School IVs in 1890 and 1891, also he won the School’s Gym Competition in 1893. He was in the School’s Vth Form on leaving. He volunteered for the Boer War in 1900 and served with Paget’s Horse, Imperial Yeomanry until 1900-1. He later entered the Consular Service in 1908 and worked in the Persian Gulf. At the outbreak of The Great War he enlisted in the 2nd Queen’s Own Oxfordshire Hussars in August 1914 commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, transferring to the Berkshire Yeomanry later that year in November. Promoted to Lieutenant in January 1916 and moved with his regiment to Egypt, wounded in action in September. A year later found him in Palestine where he was killed in action.
