Buried No Known Grave Remembered Roll of Honour, Plumtree School, Zimbabwe and The St. Edward’s School WW2 Memorial Born Cranbrook, Kent 1913. He was a member of the 2nd Rugby Football XV, a Corporal in the OTC, and in the History VIth Form. ‘He was a person of artistry and charm as well as great courage’ (Chronicle). He went up to Hertford College, Oxford 1932-5 gaining a BA. Married 1941. With the advent of war he joined the R.A.F.V.R. in 1939, qualifying as Sergeant Pilot with 222 Squadron, Fighter Command in 1941, flying Spitfires. He was killed in action over the English Channel during the Battle of Britain in summer 1941 and his body never recovered.
