Buried No Known Grave Remembered The St. Edward’s School WW2 Memorial

Born Chard, Somerset 1907, the son of a clergyman, he was a School Prefect, a member of the Rugby Football XV 1924/5, Cricket XI 1923-5 (Captain in 1925), Captain of Fives. Known by the nickname ‘Cat’. In the VIth Form when he left. He went up to Brasenose College, Oxford achieving a BA. Later on he moved to Hong Kong. In 1941 he joined the 1st Battery, Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Force as a Gunner. He died in the city of Hong Kong, fighting the invading Japanese, on Christmas Day 1941. No further details have survived, and he has no known grave.
