CONNOR FROST (Tilly’s, 2009-2014) In May 2022, Connor completed the Salzburg Half Marathon, raising money for MediCinema, a charity that brings the magic of cinema to those who need it by putting on screenings of classic and new films for patients, their families and staff. Having never run before (apart from the odd jog between scrums and line outs!), this was a huge challenge, but with the support of family and friends, he smashed it and is now more mentally and physically fit than he has ever been before.

Held in Nottingham, James captained the England team to a clean-sweep win over Wales, Ireland and Scotland. James playing at first string won his three matches 3/0 and commented “with 100 players across four age groups to four countries, the atmosphere throughout the weekend was electric – so friendly and supportive. This indeed is a sport for all ages.’’ Victoria Edwards is completing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology this year at Oxford University.Victoria’s main research project was under the supervision of Professor Paul Salkovskis, Director at Oxford Centre for Psychological Health, Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research, and Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. The study aimed to understand the role of social support and how it links to thoughts and experiences. In particular, it was looking at whether people with difficulties with hoarding (difficulties with over-acquiring and discarding possessions due to a strong perceived need to save items and/or distress associated with getting rid of items) reported any differences in social support compared to people with obsessive compulsive disorder and healthy controls. The results have been submitted for publication and a summary will be available on the departmental website in due course at https://oxicptr.web.ox.ac.uk/ E VICTORIA EDWARDS (Avenue, 2008-2010)

Describing the undertaking, they said: ‘A group of us at Bristol University have decided that by the end of the month we will run the combined equivalent distance of Bristol to Kyiv. As the crow flies this is 2309km.We will be running every day of the month to achieve this goal. This challenge will be made harder as we are unfit university students with unhealthy lifestyles, many whom haven’t run since school!’ Despite being ‘unfit students’, the group raised an incredible £11,000! !

It is great to watch the continued success of Glass Animals who have completed their Dreamland tour, performing in Australia and North America, and more recently
