REGIONAL

SYDNEY 5TH NOVEMBER 2022 E ight OSE gathered at Fiona and Elgan’s place in Woolwich, Sydney. I give my sincere thanks to them for hosting the gathering which went on much later than they had probably anticipated!

OSE EVENTS

A pleasant afternoon and evening was spent under the house verandah sharing cold Oz beer and a selection of quality Oz wines and ample food! The westerly view provided a spectacular Sydney sunset. This was an opportunity to catch up on the last few years of life in Sydney as Covid has prevented a number of gatherings. Those attending have been regulars for many years and it was great to share our recent experiences. Attendees were: Ian Stuart (Field House, 1971- 1976) and Christine, Elgan Potter (Tilly’s, 1976-1981) and Fiona, Nick Deane (Tilly's, 1961-1965) and Liz, Chris Brown (Segar’s, 1963-1967), Chris Hartley (Mac's, 1975-1979) Hugh Oxburgh (Segar’s, 1976-1979), Martin Lynch (Kendall, 1979-1983) and partner, Steve Luker (Sing's, 1977-1982) and Melanie.

BRISBANE 23RD NOVEMBER 2022

F our OSE gathered under the Story Bridge at Felon’s Pub in Brisbane. Attendees were: Ian Stuart, (Field House, 1971-1976), Jason Paterson, (Sing's, 1983-1986), Matthew Bailey, (Apsley, 1983-1986), Geoffrey Talbot (Tilly’s, 1959-1964). We enjoyed a few pints of the local ale and discussed our journeys to Oz and our time in Oz. Geoffrey's history proved to be the most interesting since he has been in Australia since 1974 and served the medical profession until his retirement. As he said Bris Vegas has changed a fair bit since he arrived.

CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICES AT TEDDIES 4th DECEMBER 2022 W e welcomed in the festive season here at Teddies at the beginning of December with two gorgeous carol services in the Chapel and we were delighted that so many of our OSE were able to join us. Almost 400 people filled the Chapel across both services and we all thoroughly enjoyed singing some well-known carols, as well as listening to the choir. Mince pies and mulled wine were served afterwards. We are really looking forward to this year’s carol services, especially as we are now hosting one in London as well as our service in the Chapel.
