A celebration of rhubarb

SUNDAY 8TH JUNE 2025 O n a sunny June afternoon, 300 OSE and former staff returned to Teddies for A Celebration of Rhubarb, an exciting day marking 100 years of the boarding houses at St Edward’s. What made the day truly special was the amazing breadth of the generations who joined us to celebrate. OSE from across the decades – ranging from those who left in the 1950s to some of our most recent leavers who left Teddies in 2024 – came together to celebrate a century of boarding house life and Teddies memories. There was warmth and energy as OSE enjoyed a wide range of activities, including the first-ever OSE dance show, an art exhibition by OSE Isabel Fishlock (Oakthorpe, 1999-2003), a chapel service, a cricket match on Upper 1, and guided House tours which offered a glimpse into how the School has evolved over the years. Lunch in the Dining Hall offered a real trip down memory lane, and there was much OSE chatter and laughter – particularly as many people were admiring the new shields proudly displaying their names on the walls! A Celebration of Rhubarb was such a special day and we were sad to see everyone go in the evening! Thank you to all those of you who came along and made the event such a success.
