Josh and Jack, however, were magnificent and took care of their match with some very impressive shot making.The ultimate result was in the balance in the top two matches until the 16th, where both unfortunately succumbed. So we were out of the main event and destined to play Brancaster in the Solihull Salver on Saturday morning.

Saturday dawned with the wind howling, but no rain! The storm still had a sting to deliver.The guys were so enthusiastic to begin with and looking forward to the challenge. Unfortunately the conditions became ridiculous with 40mph wind gusting to 50mph, and squally showers stinging any exposed flesh and driving moisture into already permeable waterproofs. I lasted until the 6th hole before retreating to the warmth of the clubhouse.

deserve real credit for staying the distance.The result in the main event was an amazing first win for Radley who beat Birkenhead in the final.The Leys won the Solihull Salver with Chigwell winning the Committee Bowl.Teddies have yet to win the main event, but I remain optimistic.

The challenge wasn’t really golf but a survival exercise.The team all managed to finish but it took them nearly five hours.They all
