William Davies (Apsley, 1981-1986)

In March,William Davies took on the colossal challenge of Panda Raid – a 3,000km race in which 400 Fiat Pandas zoom across the Sahara Desert from Nador in the north to Mehdi in the west. Upon returning from Morocco,William said ‘it was the most amazing experience’, though ‘much tougher than expected and pretty brutal on car and man!’.

Patrick visited the site of the memorial for Adrian Warburton (Sing’s, 1932-1935) – an RAF Pilot and flying ace of the Second World War, whose plane went down on April 12th 1944 near the Bavarian village, Egling an der Paar. Patrick had been living in Bavaria until 2012, but is now based in Ohio. Patrick kindly shared this picture with us, and said he was ‘proud to have been at the same school as many heroic people who gave their lives that we may live free’. Tim Browning (Apsley, 1987-1992) Tim walked 240 miles along the Thames, from its source to the sea.Tim (pictured overleaf on the left at the Trout as they passed the Teddies boathouse) completed the challenge in eleven stages in November 2023, with each stage ranging from 20-25 miles, alongside his friend Ed Bradley.
