The People’s Chase involved all pupils across two events in the Autumn Term 2020 amongst the colourful leaves of the lower playing fields.

Following the announcement that Alastair Chirnside would become the 14th Warden of St Edward’s, he and his family became regular visitors to the School, getting to know the community in preparation for their time at Teddies .

The Marquee became a feature of the Quad landscape this year, enabling more room for distancing during mealtimes. It has been a useful and even festive temporary space, and we’ve been enormously grateful to our Domestic Services staff who have worked extra hard to keep us safe this year.

In June the CCF Prize Giving Ceremony took place on Upper 1. The 13thWarden Stephen Jones inspected the Guard of Honour, trained by our SSI Capt Perera, and then presented the awards.

Fourth Form pupil Timothy Long sailed into the history books in October 2020 when he became the youngest person ever to sail solo around Britain in his boat Alchemy. He was welcomed by his idol Dame Ellen MacArthur close to his journey’s end on the Isle ofWight and has raised over £14,000 to date for The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

Thanks to a generous bequest from Robert Rattray OSE and his family, a magnificent digital Phoenix Organ was installed in the Olivier Hall, pictured here with music teacher and organist Gabriele Damiani.
