Badminton By Michael Bunch, Head of Badminton

Badminton was offered to all year groups in the Autumn Term for the first time and we welcomed new members and returning old hands. The Lower School take-up was particularly pleasing, with a Junior Team holding repeated matches against MCS and d’Overbroeck’s. Whilst results didn’t go our way, there were plenty of encouraging signs and many of the players in these teams will surely become leading figures of the Club in years to come. Particular mention should be made of Sheldon Joe-Udofia whose improved performances made him one to watch for the future. In

the Seniors, Justin Liu and Wilson Lian ably led the team supported by talented siblings, Alfie and Charlie Turner. A busy fixture card throughout the Autumn Term saw a number of competitive fixtures. Highlights were the nail-biting loss to Bradfield and thrilling victories against d’Overbroeck’s and Radley. It was great to see a number of new Lower Sixth players featuring in fixtures this term, with Sascha Madsen, Dawood Nasir and Kourosh Jaafari establishing themselves as key members of the team. The Club is therefore in a strong position for the years ahead.
