New Year Quarantine
The New Year Quarantine Programme organised by St Edward's School at Charney Manor in Oxfordshire.
NEW YEAR QUARANTINE PROGRAMME FROM 28TH DECEMBER 2020
The Teddies New Year Quarantine Programme
To ensure that our families are able to comply with the UK government’s quarantine requirements, we will be hosting a quarantine programme from 28th December 2020 at Charney Manor, a country house retreat in large grounds some 15 miles from St Edward’s.
It is possible that that the quarantine period will have been reduced from 14 to 7 days by then, so we are making provision for both time-frames. If quarantine is required for 7 days, pupils should arrive on Monday 28th December and will then be able to join their Houses at Teddies on Monday 4th January. If the 14-day requirement remains, pupils should still arrive on 28th December; during the second week of the 14-day period, they will be able to access lessons remotely from Charney Manor. Should numbers exceed capacity, and if the quarantine period is reduced from 14 days to 7, we will offer two 1-week programmes: 28th December to 4th January (during the holiday period), and 4th January to 11th January (during the first week of term with pupils accessing their lessons remotely). The quarantine programme will be run by St Edward’s staff supported by the team at the Manor.
Charney Manor Charney Manor is a 13th-century Manor House in large grounds (which the pupils will be able to use for exercise and activities) in the charming village of Charney Bassett. The Manor has 23 single en suite bedrooms. Members of St Edward’s staff will be present at all times to organise activities and supervise the pupils. Three meals will be provided daily (all diets and food intolerances can be catered for) as well as morning and afternoon snacks. Fruit will be available at all times.

Further Information • The cost of the quarantine programme, to include all accommodation, food and activities, will be £130 per person per night. The cost per week is therefore £910. • Airport transfers will be organised for each pupil. The cost, likely to be in the region of £80 from Heathrow and £120 from Gatwick, will be added to the quarantine bill. • Pupils taking part in the Quarantine Programme must provide evidence of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure from their country of residence. Depending on the length of the quarantine programme at the time, pupils may be re-tested before re-joining the Teddies community and the cost of any test will be added to the quarantine bill.
