Library Spotlight
Library Spotlight A poetic send-off for the end of the year WEEK A
WEEK BEGINNING 23/06/25
We all have the same little bones in our foot twenty-six with funny names like navicular . About Standing (in Kinship) by Kimberly Blaeser Poem of the Week
Together they build something strong— our foot arch a pyramid holding us up. The bones don’t get casts when they break. We tape them—one phalange to its neighbor for support. (Other things like sorrow work that way, too— find healing in the leaning, the closeness.) Our feet have one quarter of all the bones in our body. Maybe we should give more honor to feet and to all those tiny but blessed cogs in the world— communities, the forgotten architecture of friendship.
Gaudy Week Reminders We’re almost at the end of the academic year - warm congratulations to our Upper Sixth leavers for their incredible hard work! Congratulations, too, to the Fifth Form on completing their GCSEs, and to everyone who sat exams! Before you all head off for the summer break, we want to remind you to ensure that any overdue books have been renewed or returned to the Library . Returned books can be dropped off next to the Book Box, in the returns box outside the Oxley Library, or brought to us at the desk. To renew books for the summer, you can speak to the Librarians in person or email library@stedwardsoxford.org.
