Ivan took on theTough Viking 2024 competition (an 8km obstacle race) in Stockholm, to fundraise in memory of fellowOSE Charles Wright (Sing’s, 2009-2014).

On 25th May, Rob (pictured next to the barrier, running in a black vest and sunglasses) ran the Noosa Half Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK, in memory of those he has admired and loved who have sadly passed away from cancer. One of those people is Jonny Lambe, who was Head of History at St Edward's from 2003 until shortly before his death in 2020. Rob remembers Jonny as his ‘hilarious, inspiring, and principled history teacher…whose integrity I admired deeply, whose impact endures every day, about whom I still think, and whose passing I still grieve’. Rob also ran in memory of his Babushka, and his step grandmother. He completed the race in one hour 54 minutes and 30 seconds. Sammy Virji (Tilly’s, 2010-2015)

Ivan’s and he sadly died in 2020 at the age of 24 due to sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.The pair are pictured here together on a cycling trip they took from London to the South of France in 2017. Charles is on the left, Ivan on the right.

Ivan’s impressive performance raised money for two charities working to improve and save the lives of those with heart, lung and circulatory diseases – the British Heart Foundation, and the Swedish Heart Lung Foundation. as a result of that and his 2024 tour has taken him across the UK as well as North America from September to December this year.
