Chris and the rest of his crew were representing Bradford on-Avon Rowing Club, and are pictured here (Chris is second from the left) in their brand-new kit with their boat, Miss Kitty . Chris is already planning his return to the World Masters as he is keen to still be competing when he reaches 80.

Alongside his rowing career, Chris also featured last year as an extra in the film The Boys in the Boat with four other OSE! David Morrish and Robin Ellis (Segar’s, 1964-1969) In October 2023, the OSE team welcomed David Morrish back for a tour of the School. Before this, David hadn't been back for 54 years. What happened next was, in David's words,‘nothing short of mind-blowingly weird!’. As David was leaving School, who should he bump into on the Quad, but his best friend from School, Robin Ellis (also Segar's, 1964-1969)!

appoints bishops. He was on the CNC that nominated Philip Mounstephen (Tilly’s,1972-1976) to be Bishop of Truro, since translated to be Bishop of Winchester. He is quick to point out that he didn’t know he was an OSE until afterwards!
