SCHOOL NEWS

There’s no place like Teddies! An Oxford Education Teddies benefits greatly from our Oxford location and being part of this internationally-renowned city of learning. In 2023-24 our first St Edward’s Fellows made fantastic contributions to School life. These graduate students from the University of Oxford have brought their expertise and enthusiasm to inspire our pupils ‘beyond the classroom’ for several hours each week, for example through tutorial groups and contributions to super-curricular activities. Two of our inaugural St Edward’s Fellows (1) are Jennifer Chennells (DPhil in Environmental Research, Reuben College) and Becky Short (PhD in French Literature, Worcester College). St Edward’s Fellows are a wonderful addition to the Oxford Programme, which also features Oxford Study Days and Oxford Lectures. Highlights this year include a visit to All Souls College Library for A Level English students (2 and 3), and a lecture by Oxford academic Professor Julie Curtis (Russian Literature) to enrich Fifth Form pupils’ understanding of their GCSE text The Government Inspector by Gogol (4).
