EVENTS FOR FAMILIES SATURDAY 7TH JANUARY At The North Wall Philippa James: Girlhood A tender new photographic project, this work-in-progress exhibition from The North Wall’s Propeller Artist (a programme for local artists to develop and showcase new work) Philippa James explores the idea of Girlhood. As a way to understand the journey of grief after her father died, she began investigating the vulnerability of adolescence as a metaphor for how she felt. Since then, James has been documenting teenage girls, all born at the start of the smartphone era and in a period of transition; gradually moving away from childhood yet nowhere near adulthood. Free entry. Until 28th January.
