The Chronicle January 2020

46 ST EDWARD’S CHRONICLE

PEOPLE At the end of term, Stephen Withers Green stepped down from the role of Bursar after 21 years (see page 5) and Academic Secretary Jane Collier (pictured right) retired after keeping the academic life of the School on track with supreme efficiency and charm for 20 years: we wish them both well. At the end of the academic year, we will say goodbye to Oakthorpe HM, Liz Boast, who has accepted a position of Housemistress at Clifton College; to Teacher of Classics, Edmund Hunt; to Teacher of English and Rowing Coach, Katie Greves; to Teacher of Mathematics, Jonathan Taylor; and to Counsellor Lucy-Jean Lloyd. In new appointments, Edward Hayter joined Teddies as Bursar at the start of

January, and Marlies Pickering as Academic Secretary at the end of last term. Oliver Perera took on the role of CCF Senior Staff Instructor in October. Internally, in November, Laurence Tao was appointed Assistant Head Academic and Henry Bennett Head of Tennis. In personal news, congratulations to Liz Boast and Andrew, and Nic Bond and Melissa who were married in July, and to Emily Moss and Sarah who were married in October. Congratulations too to Sophie Sydenham and Philip on the birth of Austin on 2nd October; to Adam Hahn and Debbie on the birth of Leon on 14th October; and to Adam Griffiths and Emma on the birth of Abigail on 6th November.

Brookes Brothers Dr Adrian Robinson OSE and Nick Hardy, Director of TSH Architects, came together recently to show some 40 Oxford Brookes Construction students around the TSH–designed Quad Project. Both hold academic positions at Brookes: Adrian is Senior Lecturer in Construction Technology and Nick is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Architecture.
