Cricket By Rob Craze, Head of Cricket

The Cricket Club enjoyed an excellent season of participation and performance with all 16 boys’ squads playing a competitive fixture whilst the girls’ programme goes from strength to strength. The girls’ 1st XI played on Upper 1 for the first time in history this season whilst the boys’ 1st XI won the John Harvey Cup, the boys’ JCAs won the County Cup and the boys’ U17 squad qualified for the semi-finals of the National Cricketer Paper Cup. Our girls’ 1st XI won three of their four fixtures across the season against Marlborough, Haileybury and Rugby. Matilda Pumfrey, Ruby Freeland and Millie Holme led with their performances and approach to cricket which filtered down into the younger years creating a wonderful environment throughout the season. We entered the National U15 Cup for the second time which facilitated a vast amount of learning for a

bowling and fielding skills, whilst also having tremendous fun. The boys’ Yearlings As had a difficult first season of competitive sport at Teddies but improved greatly throughout the season as was evident in both performances and results.
