40 ST EDWARD’S CHRONICLE

In Memoriam We are sad to report the deaths of two prominent members of the Teddies community: John Woodcock OSE (below) who was cricket correspondent of The Times for 33 years and is widely acknowledged as the finest cricket writer in the history of the game and Professor Michael Hay who was a Governor of St Edward’s from 1994 – 2014. Full appreciations of their life and work will appear in the autumn issue of Rhubarb magazine. PEOPLE Farewells We say a fond and profound farewell to Stephen, Katie and Tiggy Jones and wish them all the best for their next ventures (see pages 6–12). We also send the following on their way with earnest good wishes for the future: Matthew Albrighton who leaves to become Headteacher at Burford School (see page 42); Margaret Lloyd to pursue further academic study; Peter Lloyd-Jones, who retires after 24 years in the Art Department; Clare Elford, to take up a HR role closer to home after a decade at Teddies; Cassie Cooper, to take a pastoral role at the Swan School; and Penny Challans, Gemma Ferrier, Shweta Soni and Anneli Ruehle to explore pastures new.
