(General Purposes Committee Minutes June 2016) In November the first draft strategy ideas discussed for a completely new Quad build discussed The three most obvious School assets for sale are stated as being:- 1. 315 Woodstock Road (2015 valuation £ 1.25 million- £1,875,000 today) 2. 293 Woodstock Road (2025 valuation £ 1.3 million)- £1,950,000 today) 3. The front half of the Lemon Tree/Jack FM sites (Cost to the School of these properties £3 million- £4,500,000 today) (Governors’ Meeting Minutes November 2016). 2017 - The £7million (10,290,000 today) Ogston Music School opens in South Parade in January (‘Chronicle’) Projects categorised as ‘first tier’ in that they are necessary for the School to achieve its strategic aims: - 1. The Development of the South East Corner of Quad 2. Two new Boarding Houses 3. Relocation of the Common Room to the Memorial Library (Nick Hardy of TSH Architects developing a Master Plan that sites two Boarding Houses on the Cooper Lodge/Maths Block site and relocates the new Mathematics Block to the Lemon Tree/Jack FM sites) And as ‘second tier’ 1. Organise more space for Dance 2. Enlarge and improve public gallery space in the North Wall, build Fives Courts in conjunction with Oxford University and providing catering facilities for Field Side 3. To improve Cash Flow, the School would investigate the sale of land north of the Piggeries Field and Lower 3 (The Links Golf Course) & 314 Woodstock Road .These assets would only be sold as a last resort.(General Purposes Committee Minutes February 2017). 2018 - 1st pile entered for the new Olivier Building (8th January 2018), planning permission having being granted in December 2017 (Note from TSH Architects) Demolition of the existing buildings in SE corner of Quad commences July 2018, new building start in October (Note from TSH Architects) First images issued of new first custom-made co-educational Boarding House to be call Cooper Lodge, which will be built on Field Side, west of the Kendall Quad and expected to be ready by 2020 . (“Chronicle Summer 2018”) ‘Advance Guard’ of pupils take residence in Cooper Lodge Boarding House, with a small group of Shell boys going the HM Fergus Livingstone (OSE). ‘For the first two years we shall be small compared with other Houses , but we will have a go at everything’ (“Chronicle, Summer 2018). 2019 - Highest point reached in the New Quad development when a ‘topping out’ ceremony is held in June covers new Library and Teaching Building and in December for the `New Hall Build (“Chronicle, Summer 2019” and note from TSH Architects). 4. Improvements in catering and dining facilities 5. Replacement of the existing Mathematics Block
