WARDEN’S INTRODUCTION
“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate.” So begins the Bard’s 18th, and you could be forgiven for thinking this a fitting description of the Summer Term at Teddies: there is something particularly special about St Edward’s in the summer. Rightly, there is a focus on the academic, with exams looming ever larger on the horizon, but the pursuits of a St Edward’s summer extend well beyond classroom, desk and library. The temperature turns up too on the co-curricular and weekends programmes; with one eye firmly placed on the vibrancy of Gaudy Week and the spectacular programme of celebrations it entails, every inch of our 100 acres teems with life and activity. Rehearsals, sports, and excursions among the dreaming spires make summer in Oxford the place to be. I look forward to enjoying the pleasures of all it has to offer with you in the weeks ahead. Stephen Jones Notes on the Weekend Programme All services in Chapel are open to families. Sports fixtures are listed in outline; see the website or the calendar for full details. North Wall exhibitions are open 12.00 – 4.00pm on Saturday (closed to the public on Sunday; pupils may visit the Gallery any time). For weekday opening hours visit the website. www.stedwardsoxford.org www.thenorthwall.com
