1993 Ted Jones (F, 1989-1993) organised a sponsored row between Oxford (the Teddies boat club) and Henley in July 2017. The event was designed to raise money for the Tom Bowdridge Foundation, a teenage cancer charity, and also in memory of his father, Hume Jones, a huge (and vocal!) supporter of both the Teddies rowing and rugby teams! On one famous occasion his support was so ‘vocal’ the Warden of Radley refused to attend tea in protest! 50 miles by river, the row involved a number of ex-Teddies characters - Tim Browning (A, 1987-1992), Ed Boughton (E, 1987-1992), Lucas Jones (F, 1987-1992), Tariq Hussein (G, 1987-1992), Tim Waite (F, 1988-1993), Chris Pearce (D, 1988-1993), Hamish Floyd (F, 1988-1993) and Clive Williams- Jones (A, 1988-1993) ably assisted by wives, parents and children cycling along the towpath. Dinner was held in Leander that evening followed by a long sleep in the St Edward’s suite in the club that night! 1995 John Blythe (K, 1990-1995) emailed the OSE Office to tell us that he is a craniofacial surgeon in London performing major skull and facial trauma and reconstruction.

1996 Simon Nicholls (D, 1991-1996) writes: “This year I’ve returned to the BBC, as an Executive Producer in the comedy department. Previously I worked as an award-winning producer at the BBC’s comedy department from 2001 - 2011. In my new role I develop and produce TV and radio comedy as well as manage a team of producers.” 1997 Nick Lloyd Webber (K, 1992-1997) composed the music for the BBC drama series Love, Lives and Records which aired in November 2017. 2000 Holly Branson (J, 1998-2000) has co- written ‘ WEconomy: You Can Find Meaning, Make a Living, and Change the World ’ with and Marc and Craig Kielburger. The book was published in March 2018. 2001 Giles Hannah (C, 1996-2001) is now heading up the International Division of Dubai Properties, part of Dubai Holding, working for his Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. and Giles is enjoying spending time with his three sons. Giles was delighted to see Ben Ryan, former St Edward’s schoolmaster and his rugby coach who recently was head coach for the Fiji Sevens Olympic Gold medal winners along with Brian O’Driscoll, former British Lions captain and Ireland rugby captain, at the World Rugby Sevens Championship held in Dubai in December. Georgia Moffett (J, 1998-2001) has produced You, Me and Him , a witty romantic comedy set in middle class England about two female lovers, one a career-driven lawyer and the other a fun-loving, pot-smoking layabout, and their annoying Casanova neighbour. The film which also stars Georgia’s husband, David Tennant, was released in April 2018. 2005 Mark Quartley (G, 1998-2003) played Ariel in The Tempest at both the RSC at Stratford and the Barbican in London during 2017. Mark wore a motion capture suit creating a live digital avatar which appeared alongside him throughout the performance and pioneered motion capture on stage. Matt Hemsley (B, 2000-2005) wrote to us at the end of 2017 from Bahia in Brazil: “I left Teddies in 2005. The school prepared me for a lot more than I could have ever thought. Since leaving I have used many of the things that as a child I thought I would never use. Recently I used Pythagoras theorem to help some friends from my community erect an antenna for
