the course of the term both in training and matches, which allowed them to compete well against some strong opposition. The highlights were definitely impressive winning performances against Abingdon at the start of the season and Marlborough towards the end. The success was not so much in the playing record but in the improvement seen on the pitch: the positive team ethos and the progression in positional awareness. Michel Mayatskiy led well as captain, Christian Oberschneider was the side’s top goal scorer and Jamie Moores was Player of the Season. The U15C enjoyed a very good season. They started with a fine 3-3 draw against Abingdon and went on to record wins over Rugby 3-1, Radley 2-1, Stowe 6-0 and Marlborough 6-1 to achieve the second best record in the Hockey Club. The U14As started on a high, beating local rivals Abingdon 2-0 in their first fixture. Unfortunately, this was followed by a tough county tournament and a number of losses against very strong Wellington, Bradfield and Radley sides. However, the season finished positively with the side competing well in tough fixtures against Marlborough and Cheltenham, with both games ending in draws. William Barlow, Will Hearn and Tom Niblett provided the backbone of the team throughout the season and also highly impressive in their first ever season playing hockey were Alex Horton and Toby Kershaw. The U14B made a bright start to the season with two wins and a draw in their first three games, including a superb victory over Wellington College which saw two brilliant team goals, both finished by Joshua Wilmot who went on to score a handful of goals throughout the season. Karim Ishmuratov, in defence, was the standout Player of the Season and Angus Graham was a superstar goal keeper who made countless outstanding saves. Despite a challenging season, the U14C always fought hard and showed a marked improvement through the term, with their highlights being two hard earned draws against Abingdon and Bradfield.

Loveday Plate Winners Hattie Harries-Jones and Kyla Haslett- Hawkins write: ‘We competed in the Inter-School Tennis Association championships at Eton College at the end of term. We beat Sevenoaks, St Swithun’s, Monmouth and Colston’s to win the Plate – it was tough playing in the exceptional heat. It was rewarding to win, and in particular to beat Sevenoaks, the

reigning champions. Huge thanks to Mr Permain who supported us throughout the tournament. We are already looking forward to next year’s tennis season!’ Well done to Hattie and Kyla: this is the first time ever that Teddies has won this prestigious competition.
