Global Branding By Sixth Former Livi Tomacelli

In June, a group of sportsmen and women from Teddies went on a trip to London to visit a leading marketing agency called BBH. The company works with a number of world- famous brands including Audi, Google, Nike, Ray Ban and Uber. We were welcomed by three members of BBH, who were all involved in developing the branding and imagery of Apex 2100, which will be an international ski race training

academy based in Tignes, France (where Jeremy Mather, outgoing Cowell’s HM, will be Director of Pastoral Care). We met a designer, a project manager, and a strategist. They showed us different features of Apex 2100 and asked for our opinions on what they had created so far. We were also asked how the design of the brand would be more appealing to their target age group, which is 11-19 years old. I remember finding it very

hard to come up with any improvements or changes that I thought could be made as it was all really well designed. We did, however, give them some advice about the content of their website and the sportswear. It was a really enjoyable trip and it was a great opportunity to learn about the marketing of sports brands and to get an insight into one of the world’s leading marketing agencies.
