who mastered the aerial tussles from the kick-offs time and time again. The Colts side also joined the tournament on Wednesday and enjoyed a successful day despite not qualifying for the second day. In brilliant sunshine that encouraged individual flair and a festival atmosphere the boys played with creativity in attack and resilience in defence. A tough opening game v Tonbridge meant qualifying for the latter part of the tournament would be difficult. In the second game of the day the team played Dunottar School who had dispatched their first opponents with consummate ease. An early stalemate was broken first by Buster Relton then by William Allen and Kit Holland. The last game of the day against Boundary Oak School tested the energy reserves of the players and the depth of the squad. However, despite these challenges, the boys won 22-12 with tries from Tomas Carroll Orea, Kit Holland and two from Charlie Ferrett. It was a very positive finish after an enjoyable day. The Yearlings got their first taste of this tournament with an outing on Thursday, and soaked up the incredible atmosphere with glee despite losing their pool games to Royal Hospital School, Emanuel and Berkhamsted. It is always a festival to remember, and no doubt will give them a taste of things to come in later years and encourage them to follow in the successful steps of the older years.
