The Oxford Philharmonic

We were delighted to welcome the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra to the Olivier Hall this summer and are even more delighted that they are set to return for their Christmas performance of Handel’s Messiah on Wednesday 21st December. ‘I did think I did see all Heaven before me,’ wrote Handel as he finished Messiah . Part German Passion, part English anthem, part Italian opera, Messiah changed the landscape of vocal music in Britain from the moment it was first performed in 1742.
