REGIONAL RHUBARB – Midlands 20TH MAY 2022

Rep: Chris Northcote-Green (Sing’s, 1963-1968). 19 OSE and partners met for supper at the Norman Knight in Whichford,Warwickshire.The evening was very convivial and it was lovely to welcome a few new faces.The Hon Sec JohnWiggins gave an excellent update on what is happening at the School and answered a number of interesting questions from the assembled company.We are all looking forward to the next Midlands lunch in May 2023 which will be held at the Arrow Mill near Alcester.We continue to be very grateful to Christopher Northcote-Green for all the hard work he puts into organising these events.

JOHN WOODCOCK MEMORIAL DAY 4th JUNE 2022 The School hosted a Memorial Day for John Woodcock (Segar’s, 1940-1945) on 4th June. In the morning there was a Chapel service which featured a number of John’s favourite hymns and readings. Simon Northcote-Green (Sing’s, 1967-1972) gave a moving address. There was a keenly contested cricket match on Upper One between a JohnWoodcock XI and a Martyrs President’s XI. An excellent lunch was provided in the Martyrs Pavilion during which there were a number of reflections on John’s life particularly from Gideon Hudson (Sing’s, 1958-1963) who had composed a heartfelt tribute letter to John.
