stress the deadliness of self-doubt and the significance of not allowing imposter syndrome or a self-perceived lack of experience to hinder us within our job searches.The last speaker was Helen Phillips a senior HR director at RBS who gave us valuable insights into what attributes make someone truly stand out to employers and reminded us about maintaining a lifelong intellectual curiosity. Being given the chance not only to hear the speakers talk but also to engage in face-to-face conversation with them and the wider network of OSE and friends of the School provided an incredible chance to make connections. However, in many ways, the most important aspect of the event was hearing about the struggles faced by phenomenally successful individuals to find a career that suited them. It provided a much-needed respite from the usual pressure to know exactly what you want to do after school that comes with being a young person. A massive thank you to Mr Vaughan Fowler and the Beyond Teddies team who facilitated the event.

OnWednesday 9th March 2022, 60 OSE,Teddies parents and some members of the Sixth Form came together for the third in our series of career networking events,Teddies Talks Finance.There was a fascinating panel of speakers made up of Will Myers (Tilly’s, 1998-2003), Stewart Innes (Kendall, 2004-2009), Mike Reid (Segar's, 1982-1987) and Helen Phillips (Mac's, 1986-1988) as well as discussions and networking with OSE and Sixth Formers ranging from 17 to 75! Upper Sixth Former Joseph, who attended the event, said: ‘On the evening of 9th March, a small group of Sixth Formers interested in the financial sector were given the opportunity to join a group of highly accomplished OSE for a series of talks at the Century Club in London.Though one could go on for days about the canapés, and there is much to be said about how great they were, being given the opportunity to network with and listen to the wisdom of some titans of the financial sector was a priceless experience.We were first able to listen to Mike Reid from Frog Capital who told us about the importance of experiencing "crappy jobs" in one’s early days and diving into opportunities when one saw them. his insights into the ups and downs of a successful career were incredibly reassuring. Next Will Myers of CadenceWealth taught us that it is okay to not know exactly what you want to do with your career and reassured us that it was the skills we gained that mattered. Penultimately, decorated Olympic rower and senior associate consultant at PwC echoed the message that not knowing what you want to do isn’t the end of the world and spoke of his own experience to
