ose events 2021-2022 the 2020 leavers’

garden party 5TH SEPTEMBER 2021 W e were delighted to invite back the 2020 leavers for their Leavers’ Party that had been postponed twice before due to Covid.The sun shone as over 200 leavers, parents and staff gathered in the Quad for a beautiful afternoon of celebrations and farewells. The afternoon started with a Chapel service followed by drinks in the marquee on the Quad.The Jazz band played and speeches were made before continuing the celebrations in the Varsity Club in central Oxford into the early hours.

Jonny Lambe’s Memorial 1ST OCTOBER 2021

JohnWiggins (SCR) writes: 'Jonny Lambe's memorial, in October, was attended by over a hundred colleagues, family and OSE. Bathed in autumn sunshine we were blessed with delightful memories of a much-missed and adored teacher, colleague and friend. In the Chapel service, officiated by Rev Ernest Lennon, former members of the History department, Julie Potter and Alastair Cook spoke about Jonny as an historian and departmental leader while Stephen Jones, the 13thWarden, recited from Under MilkWood. A ‘Welsh male-voice choir’ of current colleagues sang beautifully the Rev Eli Jenkins' ‘Evening Prayer’ with musical arrangement by Mark Taylor (SCR). Ross Simmonds (SCR) read from Proverbs.

David Aldred (Segar’s, 1981-1986) hosted the occasion and in the second part of the afternoon, in the Memorial Quad, he also delivered the dedication of both tree and bench to the echoes of Richard Powell’s bagpiping.
