1959 As well as winning the Princess Elizabeth Cup for a second year running at Henley, the VIII also win an unprecedented six open events at other regattas. 1969 The first time a School VIII reaches the final at the National Schools’ Regatta at Pangbourne, losing to their hosts.

1995 First time the School (2ndVIII) enter (and qualify for) the Temple Challenge Cup at Henley, repeated only in 2005.

1958 School VIII wins the Princess Elizabeth Cup at Henley for the first time, defeating Oundle School in the final.

2003 Five medals f or the Boat Club at the National Schools’ Regatta included a first gold for the Girls’ IV. 2005 Atlanta St GB selection rowing in the GB Coupe team, setting the path for Emma Cadoux-Hudson (Mac’s, 2007-2012),Tilly Catlin (Jubilee, 2014-2016) and RoxyWelford (Sing’s, current pupil). She is the only female OSE to row for 1999 SESBC win the Princess Elizabeth Cup for the fourth time with Toby Smith (Tilly’s, 1995-2000) going on to win a gold medal for GB at theWorld Junior Rowing Championships. Only two others have achieved this: Dave Lambourn (Apsley, 1999-2004) (2003) and Josh Brangan (Apsley, 2020-2022) (2022). John (Mac’s, 2000-2005) is the first girl to achieve

1980 Duncan McDougall (Field House, 1972 1977) is the first OSE rowing Olympian and wins a silver medal. He competes again in 1984 followed by Tom Middleton (Apsley, 1989-1994) (2000) and Stewart Innes (Kendall, 2004-2009) (2016).

2021 A girls’ crew qualifies for Henley Royal

Regatta for the first time reaching the semi finals of the Quad Sculls.The VIII also reached the semi-finals of the Princess Elizabeth Cup, a unique achievement for a co-educational school. 2022 A girls’ VIII pre-qualifies for Henley Royal Regatta. From this crew RoxyWelford (Sing’s, current pupil) is selected for the GB Coupe Team . Isabel Llabres Diaz (Corfe, 2017 2022) is the first Teddies girl to row at the World Junior Rowing Championships winning a silver medal in theVIII .

Rowing IV wins events at Evesham,Avon Schools, Northampton and Reading Town regattas, also finishing third in the Schools’ Head of the River.

1992 Three Teddies eights (1st, 2nd and Colts) contest the Princess Elizabeth Cup at Henley – a one-off achievement by any school. The rules were later changed to set a limit of one crew per school.
