ST EDWARD’S

2022 LEAVERS ACADEMIC RESULTS 202 2 87% of the grades were A* to B or the equivalent, which is only just below the level recorded last year when grades were awarded differently. Nationally, the proportion of A level grades awarded at grade B and above has fallen from 70% in 2021 to 62% this year. Our pupils’ achievements stand in marked and excellent contrast. Equally impressively, the proportion of grades awarded at A* and A for A-level and at 7 and 6 in the IB currently stands at 57%, which is the highest level in the School’s history for examinations taken in normal circumstances. 19% of the grades were awarded at the very highest level, A*s or 7s.

The 2022 A-level results have once again been outstanding, and testament to the hard work of last year’s Upper Sixth, their teachers and everyone at Teddies involved in supporting them.

nationally is 65%, reflecting both the difficult landscape for university admissions and the exceptional achievements of our pupils. Popular universities among our Upper Sixth range across the country, with Exeter University proving most popular, followed closely by the University of Bristol and Newcastle University. A significant number of students have also chosen to take their studies abroad. Destinations include Harvard University, Medaille College in Buffalo, NewYork, the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, Luiss University in Rome, and Switzerland’s Glion Institute of Higher Education. As ever, it is wonderful to see Teddies pupils going on to pursue a broad range of talents and interests. Chosen courses include Law, Neuroscience,Ancient History, Marine Biology, Motorsport Engineering, and Song Writing and Music Production.
