William Balkwill (Tilly’s, 1996-2001)

speaking to the Oxford Mail about his music scholarship at Teddies, which allowed him to form close friendships with other musical students and form the band. In the article, Glass Animals were described as ‘the biggest band to come out of Oxford since Radiohead, Supergrass and Foals’. Barney Hughes (Sing’s, 2004-2009) Barney Hughes has been playing Herbert Pitman and Steward Henry Etches in Titanic The Musical. The acclaimed production, winner of a Tony Award, embarked on its 10th anniversary tour across the UK and Ireland in March this year.

William, who left Teddies in 2001 and is now a member of the Westminster Abbey Choir, sang tenor in the Coronation Service at Westminster in May. William was a chorister at Christ Church as a boy treble before he started as a pupil at St Edward’s, and became the principal trumpeter for the National Youth Orchestra while at School at the age of 17.

Sarah Bowers (Oakthorpe, 1997-2002) Sarah recently won her first industry award at One Voice taking home ‘Voiceover Newcomer of the Year, 2023’. After a career in TV and events Sarah re-trained as a

voiceover artist in 2021 and began recording professionally in 2022. She works from her broadcast-quality studio at home in Oxfordshire recording commercials and corporate narration and hopes to break into the world of animation soon. Holly Branson (Oakthorpe, 1998-2000) Holly returned to Teddies this year as Guest of Honour at Gaudy. Holly spoke about her career, and ‘changing business for good’. Holly joined the Virgin Group in 2008, after studying Medicine and Physiology at University College London and working as a Junior Doctor at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In 2018, Holly published her first book, WEconomy:You can find meaning, make a living, and change the world’ and in 2020 she was appointed Chief Purpose and Vision Officer, as well as a Company Director of the Virgin Group. It was a real pleasure to have Holly back at Teddies! Glass Animals

Olivia, founder and CEO of NRDA Studio, was

selected by The Telegraph and NatWest as one of their 100 Female Entrepreneurs to Watch. NRDA Studio is ‘a sizing solution for all fashion brands’ which uses the data from 3D body scans to create precise garment patterns. NRDA Studio is certainly one to watch, and we look forward to seeing what exciting developments are in store for Olivia and her studio. MaxNarula (Cowell’s, 2006-2011) Since graduating with the Gold medal from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Max has worked as a lighting or associate designer on projects with Nicholas Hytner, Es Devlin, Billie Eilish and Gucci and is the International Associate on ‘Tina:The Tina Turner Musical’. Max also works in architectural design with one project shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year in 2021. Future projects include work with restauranteur Alan Yau. Flora Cameron Watt (Oakthorpe, 2009-2014) In October last year, Flora ran the London Marathon raising money for The Mulberry Bush, a school caring for children who have experienced trauma by creating a therapeutic environment in which they can rebuild and grow. Flora raised over £2,000 for The Mulberry Bush, an incredible achievement.
