Congratulations to Peter, who celebrated his 50th wedding

anniversary with his wife Susan. Peter left Teddies in 1965, before working at a prep school for a term and then travelling alongside Geoffrey James (Tilly’s, 1960-1965) to Australia. Here, the pair worked for a year on the Snowy Mountains hydroelectric scheme, as well as in a ski resort and on an outback station before their return to England.

Peter went on to study at London University, qualifying as a chartered land agent and later buying an arable farm in Norfolk where he and Susan lived for the next 20 years. The couple are now retired in Devon and enjoying lots of sailing.They have a son living in Sydney, a daughter in London, and three grandchildren. GEORGE

The Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen (Tilly’s, 1972-1976)

Congratulations to the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, previously Bishop of Truro, who was appointed the 98th Bishop of Winchester in July this year. In a short film announcing his new appointment, Bishop Philip explained that since he was born in Hampshire, this appointment represents a “coming home”.As Bishop of Winchester he will hold the office of Prelate of the Most Noble Order of the Garter and will serve as one of the 26 Lords Spiritual in the House of Lords. FENTON, CBE (Field House, 1963-1967) In January this year, George Fenton was made a CBE in the New Year’s Honours list in recognition of his services to music.A renowned composer,

he is best-known for his film and television scores, including those featured on David Attenborough’s The Blue Planet and Planet Earth . George has been nominated for five Academy Awards, and has received four BAFTAs, seven IVOR Awards, one Classic BRIT, three Emmys, and five BMI Awards. George returned to St Edward’s in November last year to give a talk to the Music Society, where pupils were able to hear about his career and ask questions. Nich Cunliffe (Mac’s, 1966-1969)
