MARTYRS GOLF

AUTUMN MEETING DENHAM GOLF CLUB 22nd October 2022 T he Martyrs golf club met last October on a cold autumnal day at Denham Golf Club.Turnout was amazing with a great mix of both new and old faces. It has been fantastic to see so many new OSE joining Martyrs events and it would be great to continue seeing more (please get in touch with us at martyrs @ stedwards oxford.org if you are interested in playing). Jack Parry (Field House, 2018-2021) continued his dominance and won the scratch event again whilst Cosmo McQueen (Field House, 2007-2012) won the net event on count back. Following the prize giving, the Martyrs enjoyed a fantastic lunch, as always at Denham. SPRING MEETING AT ROYAL WIMBLEDON GOLFCLUB 6th April 2023 O n a slightly less than desirable spring day 36 Martyrs golfers arrived to play the stunning Royal Wimbledon. We are very lucky to have many supportive members and I would like to thank Michael Palau (Sing’s, 1959-1964) for hosting the club once again. The event is well timed on the Thursday before the Easter bank holiday weekend and usually it attracts one of the larger turnouts as people take the day off and enjoy a five-day holiday. The scratch event was won again by Jack Parry whilst Aron Coleman (Sing’s, 2010-2012) won the net on his first Martyrs Golf outing. It has been an absolute pleasure seeing the club gain more and more popularity with many people staying later at the club and enjoying a drink together after the round. Thanks to all that attended.
