martyrs REPORTS 2022/23 MARTYRS vs MARLBOROUGH MALONES ATTHE MARLBOROUGH FESTIVAL OF SPORT 8th October 2022 MARTYRS RUGBY
MARTYRS
O n Saturday 8th October 2022, the Martyrs rugby team assembled at Marlborough College for a rematch against the Malones. Last year, the Martyrs won comfortably, but this year the Malones arrived with a bigger, better drilled squad, having already won two games in the season. Captained by Gus Knott, it was the Martyrs who started with a bang as Tom Wyles intercepted and ran the length of the field to score first. Then the
Malones showed their class, outplaying the Martyrs in every aspect of the game. They got their revenge and won with a resounding 41-7. Despite the result, it was a great day of sport with generations of OSE representing the Cup & Dagger once again. Man of the match goes to Jonathan Goodridge. The last time he wore the shirt, half the team were not even born!
