OVERSEAS

Teddies in Shanghai & Hong Kong WEDNESDAY 18TH & SATURDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER 2024 L ast September, we were thrilled to visit Asia and connect with our ever-growing Teddies community in both Shanghai and Hong Kong.

OSE EVENTS

T he week began on Wednesday 18th September with a drinks reception at the Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai. The evening brought together both current and prospective members of the Teddies family, offering a brilliant opportunity for future parents to hear firsthand experiences from OSE and parents alike.

On Saturday there was another memorable evening in Hong Kong, at the China Club. OSE, parents, and friends of the School gathered over drinks and canapés, sharing stories of their Teddies experiences.

It was such a pleasure to welcome members of our community from near and far. Thank you to all those who joined us.

REGIONAL

O n 12th October we gathered for the North Wales and Northwest regional lunch at The Church Green in Lymm, Cheshire, as we have for the last few years. It was pleasing to have such a wide spread of ages – OSE who left Teddies between 1957 and 1998 – and to hear stories of School from such different periods of its history. The Beyond Teddies team was thanked for the organisation of the event before John Wiggins, the Society Hon Sec, updated us on developments at School, including discussions about the introduction of VAT on school fees. John also told us that he will be fully retiring from Teddies soon and so this would be his last lunch with us in Lymm. He was thanked by all present for his attendance and for his speeches at this and many previous lunches. He will be sadly missed.
