OSE EVENTS
PAST PRESIDENTS’ LUNCH 19th APRIL 2024 J ames MacDonald-Smith (Sing’s, 1981-1985 and current President of the OSE Society) returned to Teddies last April to host other former presidents and honorary members of the Society, alongside the Warden, for the annual ‘Past Presidents’ Lunch’. The former presidents, as well as their guests, were welcomed by the Warden over drinks before they enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch prepared by the Teddies catering team in the Warden’s Dining Room.We give particular thanks to Sir David Lewis (Sing’s, 1961-1966) who delivered a fantastic few words over lunch to his fellow past presidents.
In attendance were: Malcolm Oxley (Former Staff, 1962-1999), David Wethey (Apsley, 1957-1962), Richard Whittington (Segar’s, 1943-1947), Sir David Lewis, David Wippell (Former staff, 1978-2006), John Bishop (Mac’s, 1956-1961), Christopher Sprague (Field House, 1957-1962), Charles Cooper (Segar’s, 1961-1966), David Smart (Field House, 1968-1972 and Current Staff), James MacDonald-Smith, Patricia Cook (Former Staff).
MARTYRS REPS SUPPER 18th APRIL 2024 E arlier in the year, some of the Martyrs reps got together at The Devonshire Arms in Kensington. Our reps organise fixtures for OSE
throughout the year and are key in getting teams together, so this was a chance for the Beyond Teddies Team to say thank you for their commitment whilst also brainstorming ideas for future events, as well as for the reps to meet each other.
Once all the reps had arrived (a few had mistakenly gone to the wrong Devonshire Arms, on the other side of Hyde Park!) everyone settled in for drinks and dinner. Simon Talbot-Williams (Cowell’s, 1974-1979 and former President of the Martyrs) commented afterwards that it was ‘great to see the spirit’ of the Martyrs, although he did also have ‘no voice left’ the following morning!
